Jaren Barney is the son of Darren & Lana Barney, lifetime residents of Sevier County.  He is an incredible young man who is facing the fight of his life.  In the fall of 2010, while a member of the Snow College Football Team, Jaren became ill just before receiving his LDS mission call to the Oregon, Eugene mission.  Over the next few months he was seen by many doctors and went through test after test to figure out what was wrong.  The week before his scheduled mission farewell, Jaren and his family received the devastating news.  Jaren was diagnosed with a very rare liver disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis or PSC.   At this time there is no cure for this deadly disease.  Liver transplant is the only treatment but it is not a cure.  Jaren is now on the liver transplant list.  The costs associated with this surgery are overwhelming but even with a new liver he will face a lifetime of daunting medical costs associated with this disease.  We have established the Jaren Barney Medical Fund to help Jaren and his family in this battle for his life.  Thank you for your support!
