Tournament Traditions

Over the years The Rooster Valley Super Softball Classic has develop some great traditions. One of the traditions is that an actual rooster is present at the softball fields so that people can come and see. The rooster is there, of course, because of the name of the tournament. This is something great for the youngsters to come and see.

Another tradition to the tournament has been the displaying of the Rooster Valley tournament trophies for everyone to see. Everyone will have a chance to see some of the big trophies that will be given away for the tournament. Along with these tournament trophies, everyone will be able to see the original trophy of the tournament. It is hard to miss, because it is the biggest trophy there. It is held together by four wooden softball bats. On the bottom of the trophy it displays all the tournament winners over the years. It is quite something to see.

Here's a tradition for the Kids

A tradition that kids look forward to each year is the big prize given for those that catch and return foul balls to the umpire. Every year a prize such as a scooter, bike, or something to that sorts is given away as a prize for all the kids that chase down foul balls and return them. How it works is each time a kid returns a foul ball, they receive one raffle ticket for the drawing of the prize which will be done at the championship game. The lucky winner will return home with a bike (or something similar). If they are not there at the tournament at that time they will be notified by phone that they are the lucky winner. So kids, get excited to catch as many foul balls as you can so you can get a lot of raffle tickets to increase your chances to win the big prize.
